Hey there ,
I want to share an honest update about what’s going on with me as an author right now.
There’s been a lot of good—and plenty of frustration—but I’ll start with the wins.
🎉 First, Some Exciting News:
Earlier this month, I finished my novel, The Sergeant’s Marriage Arrangement, and handed it off to my editor for a final polish. I’m so amazed with this story and am absolutely in love with it, and I can’t wait to reveal the cover soon—stay tuned for that!
I also finished a 15K prequel novella called Letters to Cassie, which is available for free when you sign up for my newsletter here:

On top of that, the anthology Midnight Mischief and Mistletoe—which features my short story Mistletoe and Lace at Midnight—releases on November 3! I’ve been doing my best to promote it per my contract with the publisher, and while social media isn’t exactly my jam, I’m learning.
💻 Tech Victories (That Nearly Broke Me)
I also switched my newsletter platform to MailerLite, and the setup process… was no joke.
I’m told it’s a learning curve even for those who aren’t legally blind. So let’s just say, this nearly qualified as an Olympic sport in my world.
(Thank you, Jesus, for the grace.)
But I did it.
✅ I designed two signup forms
✅ Created a landing page for Letters to Cassie
✅ Set up automated welcome emails
✅ Built a weekly blog campaign
✅ And figured out how to connect everything to this site
Suffice it to say, every one of the wins I’ve had this month took perseverance—some of them a lot of it.
🙏 God Has Been So Faithful
I’ve been praying through all of it, and the Lord has been steady.
Some days, I’ve wanted to give up. Some days, I’ve cried.
But He keeps reminding me: don’t measure your progress by ease—measure it by perseverance.
I know I’ll look back at this season and remember how accomplished I feel—not because everything went smoothly, but because I didn’t quit.
🔥 This Journey is Just Beginning
I’ve barely started this author journey, and already, nearly every step forward brings another roadblock. Some are small. Others feel like locked doors I’m constantly kicking in.
But the Lord keeps me steady.
And with His courage and guidance, I keep moving.
Because being a writer is one thing.
Being a writer who publishes, promotes, learns tech, and builds a platform?
That’s where the rubber meets the road.
Anyway, I better wrap this up before it turns into another book. 😅
How about you?
Celebrate any wins lately—big or small? Drop a comment. And if no one else has celebrated with you, let me be the first.
Until next time,
Keep the faith and the fire—burning bright.
